About AIK

AIK are one of Sweden's greatest football clubs, founded in Stockholm in 1891 and competing with distinction across more than a century of Swedish football. Their black and yellow colours are among the most recognisable in Scandinavian sport, and their 1998 Allsvenskan title led directly to the most celebrated moment in Swedish club football: a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage, where Gnaget held their own against elite European opposition and announced Stockholm to the continent.

Founded in 1891 in Solna, Stockholm, AIK play at Friends Arena and have won the Allsvenskan title multiple times, with modern title wins in 1998, 2009, 2018, and 2019 among their honours. They are known by the nickname Gnaget, reflecting the tenacious and combative spirit the club has long embodied.

Black is the dominant colour of AIK and their home shirt has been one of the most striking in Swedish football for generations. Adidas have been a long-standing kit partner, producing the clean black shirts that supporters treasure. The shirt worn during the 1998 title-winning season and subsequent Champions League campaign is one of Swedish football's most coveted collector's items, representing a golden moment for the club and for football in the Swedish capital.
