Al-Jazira are Abu Dhabi's most beloved club, a purple-shirted institution known as The Pride of Abu Dhabi who have risen from local roots to become one of the UAE's most recognised footballing names. Born from the 1974 merger of Al Khalidiya and Al Butain clubs, they have won the UAE Pro League three times and famously attracted World Player of the Year George Weah to their squad in the late 1990s. Their 34,000-capacity Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium is one of the Gulf's finest football venues.

Founded in 1974 through a merger of Al Khalidiya and Al Butain, Al-Jazira compete in the ADNOC Pro League in the UAE. They play at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, which holds 34,000 spectators. Key honours include 3 UAE Pro League titles (2011, 2017, 2021), 1 GCC Clubs Championship (2007), and multiple President's Cup wins.

Al-Jazira's home colours are purple and white, a combination that stands out vividly in the UAE Pro League and has become synonymous with Abu Dhabi football across five decades. The club's 50th anniversary in 2024 was marked with a special third kit packed with historical references, paying tribute to the founding clubs and the very first shirt worn by the merged side. That anniversary jersey carries design DNA tracing back to 1974, making it a rare and thoughtful example of heritage storytelling through football fashion in the Gulf region.
