About Al Mokawloon
Al Mokawloon Al Arab, known widely as the Arab Contractors, are one of Egyptian football's most distinctive clubs, founded in 1973 as the sporting arm of Osman Ahmed Osman's prominent construction company. Their early 1980s represent one of the most glorious periods in Egyptian club history: they won the Egyptian Premier League in 1982-83 and claimed back-to-back African Cup Winners' Cup titles in 1982 and 1983, becoming the first club to win that continental trophy in consecutive editions.
Founded in 1973 in Cairo, Al Mokawloon play at the Arab Contractors Stadium and have competed in the Egyptian Premier League throughout their history. Their continental back-to-back cup wins of 1982 and 1983 represent a high watermark for Egyptian club football that very few sides have matched.
Al Mokawloon have been dressed by a range of manufacturers across their history, including Nike, Adidas, and Diadora. The kits from their early 1980s continental campaigns are the most storied in their wardrobe, worn during an era when the Arab Contractors badge meant something at the very highest level of African football. Collectors and Egyptian football historians prize those shirts as symbols of a remarkable two-year spell that put the club on the continental map.
