About Al-Rayyan

Al-Rayyan are one of Qatar's most storied clubs, a founding force in the Qatar Stars League whose eight league titles and long tradition of domestic cup success have kept them at the heart of Qatari football for more than five decades. Founded in 1967 from the merger of Old Al-Rayyan and Al-Nusoor, they were one of the clubs alongside Al Sadd and Al Arabi that defined Qatari football during the 1970s and 80s. Their stunning Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, which hosted group stage and round of 16 matches during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is one of the most spectacular football grounds in the world.

Founded in 1967, Al-Rayyan compete in the Qatar Stars League. Their home, the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, holds 45,032 spectators and hosted 2022 FIFA World Cup fixtures. Key honours include 8 Qatar Stars League titles, 6 Emir of Qatar Cups, and 5 Sheikh Jassim Cups.

Al-Rayyan's traditional colours are red and white, a combination that has made the club's shirts among the most recognisable in Qatari football across more than 50 years of competition. The club's identity is closely tied to the city of Al Rayyan, which grew from a modest settlement into one of Qatar's major urban centres, and the shirts worn through that transformation carry real historical weight. The Ahmad bin Ali Stadium gave the club a spectacular new home from 2020, and the kits seen there during the 2022 World Cup brought Al-Rayyan's red and white to a global television audience for the very first time.
