Al Sadd are Qatar's most successful and storied football club, a Doha institution whose maroon and white colours have dominated the Qatar Stars League for decades. Founded in 1969, they have won more than a dozen league titles and produced remarkable players, but it is their association with Xavi Hernandez that brought them global recognition. The Barcelona and Spain legend joined as a player in 2015 and returned as manager in 2019, winning the league title before departing to take charge of Barcelona.
