About Aragua
Aragua FC are one of Venezuelan football's most resilient clubs, a side from the industrial city of Maracay in Aragua state that has established itself as a fixture in the Venezuelan Primera Division since their promotion in 2005. Born in 2002 from the reorganisation of Deportivo Galicia, they quickly made their mark by winning the Copa Venezuela in 2007 to 2008, the most significant achievement in the club's short history. Their yellow and red home kit has become a recognisable sight in Venezuelan club football. Founded in 2002, Aragua FC are based in Maracay, Aragua state, Venezuela, and compete in the Venezuelan Primera Division. They play at Estadio Olimpico Hermanos Ghersi, which holds around 16,000 spectators. Major honours include the Copa Venezuela in 2007 to 2008 and the Venezuelan Segunda Division title in 2004 to 2005. Their home colours are yellow and red. The yellow and red combination of Aragua FC gives the club from Maracay one of the most eye-catching looks in Venezuelan football. The club actually started life in blue and white before switching to yellow and red in the mid-2000s, a change that coincided with their establishment as a Primera Division club. The Copa Venezuela-winning kits from the 2007 to 2008 season are the most celebrated in the club's history, worn during the achievement that announced Aragua to a wider Venezuelan and South American audience.
