About Arsenal
Arsenal are one of the most iconic clubs in world football, a London institution whose red and white shirt has been worn by some of the greatest players ever to play the game. Founded in 1886 by munitions workers in Woolwich, the Gunners became the first southern club to join the Football League and have spent more time in the English top flight than any other side. Their 13 league titles, record 14 FA Cup wins, and the unbeaten 2003-04 Invincibles season place them permanently in football's elite company.
Founded in 1886 as Dial Square in Woolwich, south London, Arsenal compete in the Premier League, England's top division. Their home since 2006 is the Emirates Stadium in Holloway, north London, which holds 60,704 supporters. Key honours include 13 First Division and Premier League titles, 14 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, and 1 UEFA Fairs Cup (1970).
The red and white home kit became permanent in 1933 when manager Herbert Chapman introduced white sleeves to the traditional red shirt, creating one of football's most enduring designs. The yellow away shirt worn by the Invincibles in 2003-04 is among the most celebrated in Premier League history, while the bruised banana yellow and navy away of 1991-93 remains a cult classic of the retro era. Nike supplied the club from 1994 to 2019, before Adidas returned for the current era, bringing a cleaner, sharper take on the classic red.
