About Atlante
Atlante are one of Mexican football's most historically significant clubs, a proud blue and claret institution from Mexico City with roots stretching back to 1916. Known as El Equipo del Pueblo (The People's Team), Atlante were a founding member of the professional Mexican league in 1943 and built a passionate working-class following across generations. With 3 Liga MX titles and two CONCACAF Champions Cup victories to their name, the club also reached the semi-finals of the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup before falling on harder times in recent years. Founded in 1916, Atlante play at the Estadio Agustin "Coruco" Diaz in Zacatepec, Morelos, Mexico. They currently compete in the Liga de Expansion MX, the second tier of Mexican football. Key honours include 3 Liga MX titles, 2 Copa MX titles, and 2 CONCACAF Champions Cup victories. Nicknamed El Equipo del Pueblo (The People's Team), they wear blue and claret. Atlante's blue and claret kits are one of the most distinctive colour combinations in Mexican football and carry a century of working-class identity. The bold azulgrana combination connects the club to its earliest roots and has been worn through Liga MX glory and the excitement of continental competition. The kits from their two CONCACAF Champions Cup-winning campaigns are treasured pieces in Mexican football history, and the shirts worn at the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup, where Atlante memorably reached the semi-finals, represent the club's greatest moment on the world stage.
