About Casertana
Casertana FC are one of southern Italy's most historic clubs, founded in 1908 in the city of Caserta, home of the magnificent Royal Palace. Known as the Falchetti (Little Falcons), after the falcon on the city's coat of arms, they have spent most of their existence in the lower tiers of Italian football but twice reached Serie B, in 1970 to 1971 and 1991 to 1992. Their red and blue colours and fighting spirit have made them a beloved institution in Campania, a club that has survived bankruptcy and rebirth to carry on flying the flag for Caserta. Founded in 1908, Casertana FC are based in Caserta, Campania, and compete in Serie C, Italy's third division. They play at Stadio Alberto Pinto. The club are nicknamed I Falchetti (The Little Falcons). Their home colours are red and blue. They have twice been promoted to Serie B, in 1970 to 1971 and 1991 to 1992. The club was refounded after bankruptcy in 2005. The red and blue combination has been Casertana's identity for most of their history, a bold pairing that reflects the Rossablu tradition of southern Italian football. The kits from the early 1990s, worn during the club's second taste of Serie B football, are the most talked-about in Casertana's shirt archive, a time when the Falchetti were flying at a level rarely seen for a club of their size. Away kits have often gone to white, providing a clean contrast to the red and blue home strip. Throughout the decades, Casertana's shirts have remained functional and honest, much like the club itself.
