About Chelsea

Chelsea are one of the Premier League era's defining clubs, a blue institution from west London who transformed from underachievers into serial winners after Roman Abramovich's takeover in 2003 and then delivered more European glory under new ownership in 2021. Founded in 1905, the Blues spent their early decades as an inconsistent but entertaining west London club before winning their first league title in 1955. The Abramovich era brought six Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, and a succession of world-class players in blue, making Chelsea one of the sport's genuine heavyweights.

Founded in 1905, Chelsea compete in the Premier League, England's top division. Their home is Stamford Bridge in Fulham, west London, which holds around 40,000 supporters. Key honours include 6 Premier League titles, 8 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, 2 UEFA Champions League titles (2012, 2021), and 2 UEFA Europa League wins.

Chelsea's royal blue home shirt has been worn at Stamford Bridge since the club's formation and is now one of world football's most recognisable designs. The 1970s era produced some of the most flamboyant designs in club history, including the distinctive 1970 FA Cup winning shirt worn by Charlie Cooke and Peter Osgood. Umbro supplied the club through much of the 20th century before Adidas and then Nike took over in the Premier League era. The 2011-12 Champions League winning kit holds a special place in supporter memory, the blue shirt worn by Didier Drogba when he headed and converted the penalty that delivered Europe's top prize to west London.
