About Dalian Professional
Dalian Professional FC carry the torch of a Chinese football city with one of the game's great domestic dynasties in their DNA. The modern club was founded in 2009 and competed in the Chinese Super League until its dissolution in January 2024, a casualty of the financial collapse that swept through Chinese football. In their years of operation the club attracted major international names, operated under Wanda Group ownership, and carried the pride of Dalian, a city whose football legacy dates back to the Dalian Shide dynasty that dominated Chinese football in the 1990s and early 2000s. Founded in 2009 as Dalian Aerbin, the club was renamed Dalian Yifang in 2015 and Dalian Professional in 2019. They competed in the Chinese Super League and played at various grounds in Dalian including Dalian Sports Centre Stadium. The Wanda Group took full control in 2018. Nike supplied the club's kits. Their home colours are red. The club was dissolved in January 2024 due to financial debts. The red home kit of Dalian Professional reflected the club's ambitions and their connections to the proud football tradition of a city long established as China's most successful footballing centre. Nike produced the club's most prominent kits during their Chinese Super League years, bringing a modern design sensibility to the red shirts worn at Dalian's various grounds. The kits from the Wanda era, when the club attracted international attention and notable players, are the most associated with the Dalian Professional identity. The club's dissolution in 2024 makes these shirts documents of a chapter in Chinese football that ended too soon.
