About Envigado

Envigado FC are a Colombian football curiosity, a small club from the municipality of Envigado in the Aburra Valley near Medellin who have spent the better part of three decades in the top flight against all the odds. Founded in 1989, they won the inaugural Primera B title in 1991 and have bounced between the divisions ever since, producing young players who go on to bigger clubs while maintaining a fierce community identity. Their 2012 Copa Sudamericana qualification, earned on the back of their best-ever Apertura and Finalizacion campaigns, gave the club a rare taste of continental football.

Founded in 1989, Envigado FC play at the Polideportivo Sur in Envigado, Antioquia, Colombia. League: Categoria Primera A (Colombia). Honours: Primera B champions 1991, 2007. Nicknames: Los Naranjas (The Oranges).

Envigado's orange-and-black home shirts are immediately recognisable in Colombian football, a bold colour pairing that sets them apart from the more conventional palettes of their rivals. Their kits from the early 2000s, when the club was establishing itself as a stable Primera A side, have a modest charm that appeals to collectors of South American football shirts. More recent strips produced by local and regional manufacturers have kept the orange-and-black tradition alive, maintaining an identity that is unmistakably Envigado.
