About Gremio

Gremio are one of Brazilian football's great southern giants, a Porto Alegre institution with two Copa Libertadores titles and a tradition of producing some of Brazil's finest players from the unique culture of Rio Grande do Sul. Three Brazilian championship titles and consecutive Libertadores wins in the 1980s and 1990s cement Gremio's place among South America's elite clubs. The blue, black, and white of the Tricolor Gaucho is one of Brazilian football's most distinctive palettes. Founded in 1903, Gremio play at the Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre and compete in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A. Key honours include two Copa Libertadores titles (1983, 1995) and three Brazilian championship titles. Known as the Tricolor Gaucho, the club wears blue, black, and white as their signature colours and is the south's most beloved football institution. Blue, black, and white horizontal stripes are Gremio's distinctive look and they have produced some memorable kits across the decades. The 1995 Copa Libertadores winning shirt is the most celebrated piece in the modern wardrobe. Umbro-era designs from the 1990s carry the greatest nostalgia value for a generation of Gremio supporters. The all-blue away kits in more recent seasons have been popular with collectors, but it is always the tricolour home shirt that defines what it means to support Gremio.
