About Juventude
Esporte Clube Juventude are a proud football club from Caxias do Sul in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul, founded on 29 June 1913 by 35 young men of Italian immigrant descent. Playing in green and wearing that colour as a badge of regional identity, Juventude have competed at the highest levels of Brazilian football and have the Copa do Brasil title of 1999 to show for it. Their Estadio Alfredo Jaconi is a fervent fortress in the southern Brazilian city, and the club carries the immigrant heritage of the Caxias do Sul region with immense pride.
Founded: 29 June 1913. Stadium: Estadio Alfredo Jaconi, Caxias do Sul. League: Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B, Brazil. Honours: Copa do Brasil 1999, Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B 1994, Campeonato Gaucho titles. Nicknames: Papo, Verdao da Serra.
Juventude's green kit is one of the most distinctive in Brazilian football, an immediate visual statement from a club that has always stood apart from the traditional red and black or blue and white combinations of the big Gaucho rivals. The strips from their Copa do Brasil-winning year of 1999 are the crown jewels for collectors, worn in a campaign that announced a club from the Serra Gaucha mountains to the entire country. Green has always defined Juventude and always will.
