About Leganes
CD Leganes are the ultimate working-class story in Spanish football, a club from a southern suburb of Madrid who spent decades in the lower reaches of the Spanish pyramid before achieving one of the great modern promotions. Founded in 1928, they reached La Liga for the first time in their history in 2016 and spent four seasons among Spain's elite, becoming genuine cult heroes in a capital city dominated by Real Madrid and Atletico. Their brief time in the top flight captured the imagination of football fans across the country.
Founded in 1928, Leganes play at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque in Leganes, a suburb of Madrid. They spent their first La Liga spell between 2016 and 2020, earned promotion again in 2024, and compete in blue and white. Los Pepineros, as they are known, are one of Spain's great community clubs.
The blue and white of Leganes carries the pride of an entire suburb against the long shadow of its Madrid neighbours. Joma have supplied the club since 2011, producing the kits worn during the most celebrated years in Leganes's history. The home shirts from the 2016-17 and 2017-18 La Liga seasons are the most treasured in the club's wardrobe, worn when Los Pepineros showed the world what a community club with spirit and ambition could achieve on the biggest stage Spanish football has to offer.
