About Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough are the pride of Teesside, a club with a fierce regional identity and the taste of major silverware in their history. Founded in 1876, Boro have spent much of their existence fighting for their place among English football's elite, and their greatest era came under Steve McClaren in the mid-2000s when they lifted the League Cup in 2004 and reached the UEFA Cup final in 2006.

Founded in 1876 and based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, the club have played at the Riverside Stadium since 1995 after leaving the old Ayresome Park. Their honours include the 2004 Football League Cup, their first and only major trophy. They currently compete in the Championship, the second tier of English football.

The Middlesbrough red shirt is as Teesside as anything. The home kit has been red with white trim for most of the club's history, and the iconic red shirt worn during the 2004 League Cup triumph is one of the most fondly remembered in Boro history. Errea produced the kit during that historic campaign, and the red shirt worn at the Millennium Stadium that February carries enormous sentimental weight for supporters. The club have worked with several manufacturers over the years including adidas and Hummel.
