About Montreal Impact
Montreal Impact, now playing as CF Montreal following a 2021 rebrand, are one of Canadian football's most culturally rich clubs, reflecting the unique French-Canadian identity of North America's most European city. From the NASL era through the USL years and into MLS in 2012, Montreal have carried the passion of a football-mad French-speaking community with pride. The blue and white of Saputo Stadium are beloved in Quebec, and the club has consistently been one of MLS's most distinct and characterful organisations. Founded in 1993, Montreal Impact play at Saputo Stadium and compete in MLS Eastern Conference. The club rebranded as CF Montreal in 2021, returning to a traditional blue identity in 2023 following fan pressure. Key honours include multiple Canadian Championship wins. Known as the Impact and Les Bleus et Blancs, the club represents Quebec's passionate football culture. Blue and white have been the Impact's colours across their entire history and remain central to the visual identity. The original Impact kits of the NASL and USL years carry fan nostalgia for those who followed the club from the very beginning. The MLS-era kits from 2012 provided a clean, professional identity. The 2021 rebrand to CF Montreal was contentious, with the initial black and grey scheme giving way to a restored blue identity in 2023, a genuine victory for fans who had campaigned hard for a return to tradition.
