About New York City FC
New York City FC are one of MLS's most ambitious and globally connected clubs, a side founded with the full backing of City Football Group and the glamour of Yankee Stadium as their extraordinary home. Since entering MLS in 2015, NYCFC have attracted legends like David Villa, Frank Lampard, and Thierry Henry and built a genuine footballing culture in one of the world's greatest cities. Their 2021 MLS Cup triumph was the validation of a vision that once seemed almost too bold. Founded in 2013, New York City FC play primarily at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and compete in MLS Eastern Conference. Key honours include the 2021 MLS Cup and the 2019 Supporters' Shield. Known as the Boys in Blue, the club is owned by City Football Group and represents the New York arm of one of world football's most powerful ownership networks. Sky blue is NYCFC's colour and it gives them an instantly recognisable identity in the Bronx. The inaugural jersey of 2015, worn by David Villa in the club's very first MLS season, is already a collector's piece. The kits have consistently reflected the CFG sky blue family aesthetic while incorporating New York details. The black away kits with sky blue and orange trim capture the energy of the city and distinguish NYCFC from their CFG siblings.
