About Numancia

CD Numancia are one of Spain's most romantic underdog stories, a small club from the ancient city of Soria in Castile and Leon who defied all expectations to reach the top flight of Spanish football three times. Named after the legendary Celtiberian city of Numantia, the club carry a proud regional identity and a fighting spirit that mirrors the ancient town's legendary resistance. Their most famous moment came in a Copa del Rey run in 1995-96 when, as a third-division side, they eliminated three top-flight clubs before falling to Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Founded on 9 April 1945 and based in Soria, Castile and Leon, Spain, the club play at the Nuevo Estadio Los Pajaritos. They have competed in La Liga on three occasions. Nicknamed Los Rojillos (The Little Reds) for their red and white home colours.

The red and white home shirt is Numancia's constant, a colour combination that suits the proud and battling identity of this Castilian club perfectly. The kits worn during their La Liga seasons hold a special place for supporters from Soria, representing the club's greatest achievements against Spain's giants. As a smaller club working with modest budgets, Numancia kits have often been produced by less prominent manufacturers, giving them a rawness and authenticity that collectors of Spanish football's lower-profile clubs particularly appreciate.
