About Osijek
NK Osijek are one of Croatian football's great survivors, a club from the eastern Slavonia region that has maintained top-flight status since Croatian independence in 1992. Known as the Bijelo plavi (the White and Blues), Osijek have been a consistent presence in the HNL Croatian top flight and reached a milestone with their Croatian Cup win in 1999, establishing themselves as more than just supporting cast in a league long dominated by Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split.
Founded in 1947 (with roots going back to 1916) and based in Osijek, eastern Croatia, the club play at the Stadion Gradski Vrt. Their honours include 1 Croatian Cup (1999) and a record as one of only four clubs never relegated from the Croatian First Football League since its formation. Nicknamed Bijelo plavi (White and Blues).
The white and blue home shirt is the clearest statement of Osijek's identity, a clean combination that reflects the club's working-class roots in the Slavonian city. The kits worn during the club's European campaigns, including UEFA Cup appearances in the early 2000s, hold a special place among collectors of Eastern European football shirts. For supporters of Croatian football beyond the dominance of Zagreb and Split, an Osijek shirt represents the pride of a region and a determination to compete that goes well beyond trophies.
