About Preston North End

Preston North End are English football's original champions, the club from Lancashire who won the very first Football League title in 1888-89 without losing a single match and were also the first winners of the FA Cup that same season. The Invincibles, as that legendary side became known, set a standard that has never been equalled in English football, and the white shirts of Deepdale carry the full weight of that extraordinary unbeaten history.

Founded in 1880 and based in Preston, Lancashire, the club play at Deepdale, one of English football's oldest continuously used grounds. Their honours include 2 First Division titles (1889, 1890) and 2 FA Cups (1889, 1938). Nicknamed the Lilywhites for their traditional white home kit, they currently compete in the Championship.

White is Preston through and through. The plain white shirt, worn since the club's earliest days, is one of English football's most classically simple kits and carries enormous historical resonance. The 1888-89 white shirt of the Invincibles was one of the very first iconic kits in English football. Through generations of manufacturers, that white home shirt has remained the constant, and the navy blue shorts that traditionally accompany it give the Lilywhites look a timeless, understated elegance. Shirt collectors with an interest in English football heritage hold Preston kits from various eras in genuine esteem.
