About Pune City
FC Pune City were one of the ISL's founding clubs, a Maharashtra institution from the great city of Pune that brought the excitement of the Indian Super League to western India from 2014 to 2019. Playing in distinctive orange and black, Pune City were associated with Bollywood star Salman Khan and the Wadhawan Group and featured international stars throughout their five seasons. The club was disbanded in 2019, becoming the first ISL franchise to fold, with their rights eventually transferred to the founding of Hyderabad FC. Founded in 2014, FC Pune City were based at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra, India. They competed in the Indian Super League from 2014 until their disbandment in 2019. The club was the first ISL franchise to cease operations. They wore orange and black. FC Pune City's orange and black kits were a vibrant presence in the ISL during the competition's formative years, as the league established professional football in India's major cities. The bold orange identity gave Pune City a distinctive visual statement and the shirts from their five seasons (2014-2019) are collector's pieces from an important chapter in Indian football history. As the first ISL club to fold, Pune City's kits now carry additional historical significance as artefacts from a club whose brief existence helped lay the foundations for the growth of professional football in Maharashtra.
