About Quimper
Quimper are one of Brittany's most historic football clubs, founded in 1905 in the regional capital of Finistere at the very western tip of France. Originally known as Stade Quimperois, the club spent 16 seasons in the second division and reached their peak with a fourth-place finish in the second tier in 1989. Through several name changes, a spell of financial difficulty in the late 1990s, and a 2011 merger that formed Quimper Kerfeunteun FC, the club has carried the football tradition of Cornouaille into the present day.
Founded in 1905 in Quimper, Brittany, the club plays at the Penvillers stadium in Kerfeunteun and currently competes in the regional league system. Their history has seen them operate as Stade Quimperois, Quimper Cornouaille FC, and since 2011, Quimper Kerfeunteun FC.
Blue is the primary colour of Quimper, a shade that suits a club from one of France's most atmospheric and culturally distinct regions. Kappa have been among their kit suppliers. The shirts from their second-division peak in the 1980s represent the club's most celebrated era, when Breton football punched above its weight and Quimper could count themselves among France's established second-tier sides. The blue of Quimper is worn with the kind of regional pride that sets clubs from Brittany apart.
