About Raa
Raa IF are a small but historically remarkable club from the Raa district on the Oresund coast, just south of Helsingborg in southern Sweden. Founded in 1921 in a tight-knit fishing community, they punched far above their weight in mid-century Swedish football, winning the Swedish Cup in 1948 and finishing as Allsvenskan runners-up in the 1950-51 season. For a community club from such a modest background, those achievements remain genuinely astonishing and speak to a golden era when local football could produce national-level results.
Founded in 1921, Raa IF are based in Raa on the Skane coast and currently compete in the Swedish third division. Their proudest moments came in the late 1940s and early 1950s, when they won the Swedish Cup in 1948 and finished second in the Allsvenskan.
Anniversary editions, particularly around the club's centenary in 2021, have produced sought-after collector's items for fans of Swedish football history. Shirts connected to the 1948 Swedish Cup-winning era are the most prized in the Raa archive, testament to a club that achieved something extraordinary before settling back into the lower reaches of the Swedish pyramid. That cup-winning shirt, however modest in design by modern standards, represents one of the more romantic upsets in Scandinavian football history.
