About Rangers

Rangers are one of world football's most storied clubs, a Glasgow institution with 55 Scottish league titles that make them the most decorated team in the history of the sport. From their formation on the banks of the Clyde in 1872 to the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972 and the extraordinary 55th title in 2021 under Steven Gerrard, the famous blue shirt of Ibrox has been worn by legends of Scottish and world football for 150 years.

Founded in 1872 and based in Glasgow, Scotland, the club play at Ibrox Stadium. Their honours include 55 Scottish league titles (a world record), 34 Scottish Cup wins, 27 League Cup wins, and 1 Cup Winners' Cup (1972). Nicknamed the Gers or the Light Blues.

The royal blue home shirt is Rangers through and through. No colour in Scottish football is more immediately identifiable, and the Ibrox faithful have been draped in it for 150 years of history. The Hummel kits of the late 1980s and early 1990s, worn during consecutive league title-winning seasons under Graeme Souness and Walter Smith, are among the most coveted retro shirts in Scottish football. Adidas supplied some defining Rangers kits during the nine-in-a-row era of the 1990s. More recently Castore have taken over as kit supplier, producing modern takes on the eternal blue that connect the present club to its extraordinary past.
