About Skoda Plzen
Skoda Plzen, now known as Viktoria Plzen, are one of Czech football's most historic and most successful clubs, a Bohemian institution from the city of Plzen that has dominated the Czech First League in the modern era while making repeated appearances in the Champions League group stage. Founded in 1911, the club took their early name from the Skoda Works, the great industrial factory complex that defines Plzen, before eventually restoring the Viktoria name. Their red and blue striped home shirt is one of the most recognisable in Czech football. Founded in 1911, Viktoria Plzen (formerly Skoda Plzen) are based in Plzen, Bohemia, Czech Republic, and compete in the Czech First League. They play at Doosan Arena. Major honours include multiple Czech First League championships from 2011 onwards. Their home colours are red and blue stripes. The club was long known as Skoda Plzen due to their association with the Skoda industrial works before the Viktoria name was restored. The red and blue striped home shirt is Viktoria Plzen's most distinctive feature, a bold combination that makes the Bohemian club instantly recognisable in Czech and European football. The kits worn during the landmark 2011 to 2012 Champions League campaign, when Plzen reached the group stage for the first time and faced AC Milan, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich, are the most celebrated in the club's modern history. Puma have been a major manufacturer for the club during their era of Czech league dominance, producing clean, striking designs that carry the red and blue stripes with real authority.
