Sportul Studentesc

Sportul Studentesc are one of Romania's most historically interesting football clubs, a Bucharest side founded in 1916 with deep roots in the academic and student communities of the city. Playing in black and white, the club achieved their greatest moment in the 1985-86 season, finishing second in the Romanian league just behind the great Steaua Bucharest, who were European Champions that same year. The 1980s were a golden era for Sportul Studentesc, with Gheorghe Hagi among the luminaries to have worn their shirt before becoming one of the greatest players European football has ever produced.

Sportul Studentesc were founded in 1916 and are based in Bucharest, Romania. Their best league finish was 2nd in 1985-86. The club won the Balkans Cup in 1979-80 and reached the third round of the UEFA Cup in 1987-88. Their colours are black and white. Gheorghe Hagi played for the club before his wider career.
