About Strasbourg
RC Strasbourg Alsace are one of French football's most distinctive clubs, rooted in the Alsace region and wearing blue with deep local pride. Their sole Ligue 1 title in 1979 remains a landmark moment, but it is their passionate local support and consistent Coupe de France pedigree that defines them. After years of financial turbulence and lower-league struggles, Strasbourg have re-established themselves in Ligue 1 and earned recognition as one of France's most characterful clubs. Founded in 1906, Strasbourg play at the Stade de la Meinau and compete in Ligue 1. Their major honours include the 1979 French championship and four Coupe de France titles (1951, 1966, 2001). Known as Les Bleus, the club carries the cultural weight of the Alsace-Lorraine region with pride. Strasbourg's royal blue shirts are their identity, worn consistently across decades with white shorts providing the classic contrast. The 1979 title-winning season saw the blue strip reach its greatest heights. More recently, Adidas has produced some striking embossed designs that honour both the club's colours and its Alsatian heritage. With over 50 documented kit variations since 1974, Strasbourg's wardrobe is richer than many casual fans realise.
