About Stuttgarter Kickers
Stuttgarter Kickers are Stuttgart's other football club, the blue and white counterpart to the red and white of VfB Stuttgart, and one of German football's most historically interesting smaller clubs. Founded in 1899 by a group of students, the Kickers were actually the dominant force in Württemberg football in the early years of the twentieth century, winning 14 consecutive regional titles between 1901 and 1914. They have flirted with the Bundesliga over the decades, most memorably in the late 1980s, and their DFB Cup Final appearance in 1987 remains a landmark moment in the club's history.
Founded: 1899. Stadium: BZA Waldau, Stuttgart. League: Regionalliga Südwest, Germany. Honours: DFB Cup finalists 1987, Bundesliga appearances 1988-89 and 1991-92, 14 consecutive Württemberg titles 1901-1914. Nicknames: Blaue (The Blues).
Stuttgarter Kickers' blue and white strips are a Stuttgart institution, worn by a club that has refused to be overshadowed by their famous city neighbours at VfB. The kits from their Bundesliga years in the late 1980s and early 1990s are collector pieces for fans of German football history, representing something remarkable for a club of their size. The Blaue identity has remained consistent and proud across more than 120 years of football in Stuttgart.
