About Swindon Town
Swindon Town may not be the biggest name in English football, but their history is packed with moments that have earned genuine respect. The Robins famously lifted the League Cup in 1969, beating Arsenal 3-1 at Wembley as a Third Division club in one of the competition's greatest upsets. Glenn Hoddle then guided them to the Premier League in 1993, a brief but thrilling stay that gave the County Ground its greatest era. A club of underdogs and moments. Founded in 1879, Swindon Town play at the County Ground and compete in League Two. Key honours include the 1969 League Cup. Known as the Robins, the club wears red as their traditional colour and draws from a proud Wiltshire footballing heritage with a loyal local following. Swindon's red shirts tell a story of defiance. The 1969 League Cup final kit is the most iconic in the club's wardrobe, worn as a Division Three side beating top-flight Arsenal at Wembley. The 1992-93 promotion season brought white pinstripe away kits that have since become collector's items. More recently, the club has produced modern red home kits with retro nods, including a 2021-22 away shirt in yellow and green that tipped its cap to that Premier League era.
