Trabzonspor are the great force of Turkish football outside Istanbul, a club that broke the stranglehold of the capital's big three and made the Black Sea coast a name feared across the country. The stripe pattern reportedly traces its origins to Aston Villa, whose kits were gifted to the club in its early years.
