About Udinese

Udinese Calcio are one of Serie A's most underappreciated clubs, a provincial outfit from the Friuli region that has consistently punched above their weight through smart recruitment and a stubborn refusal to be overlooked. Their Pozzo ownership group brought a global scouting network that gifted players like Antonio Di Natale, Alexis Sanchez, and Samir Handanovic to Serie A. European football has been a regular destination for a club that many would consider too small to be there. Founded in 1896, Udinese play at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine and compete in Serie A. Though silverware has been scarce, the club reached third place in Serie A in 2011-12 and regularly competed in the UEFA Cup and Europa League. Known as the Zebrette (little zebras), their black and white stripes are a Serie A constant. Black and white stripes are Udinese's signature and they have worn them with real elegance across the decades. Adidas dressed the club through much of their most successful period, producing clean black and white home shirts during the Di Natale era that suited the club's no-nonsense identity. Away kits have experimented with all-black designs and gold trim. The 2011-12 shirts, worn as Udinese came agonisingly close to Champions League qualification, carry particular nostalgic weight for the club's growing international fanbase.
