About Valladolid
Real Valladolid are a proud and historic club from the Castile and Leon region, synonymous with their distinctive purple and white vertical stripes. Known affectionately as Pucela by their supporters, Valladolid have spent much of their history in La Liga despite never landing a title, with a loyal fanbase that punches above the club's resources. The club gained renewed global attention when Ronaldo Luis Nazario purchased a majority stake, making one of football's greatest strikers their unlikely figurehead. Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla and compete in La Liga. Key honours include the Copa de la Liga in 1984. Known as Pucela and Los Blanquivioletas, the club wears purple and white stripes derived from the city's coat of arms and represents one of Spain's most recognisable colour combinations in football. The purple and white vertical stripes are everything at Valladolid. Few clubs in European football own a colour as completely as Valladolid own purple, and the shirt has been a collector's favourite for exactly that reason. The 1999-2000 design is widely regarded as a club classic, featuring clean stripes with minimal branding. More recent Kappa-produced home kits have introduced modern V-neck details while keeping the stripe pattern central. Away kits in black with purple trim offer a sharp alternative.
