About Verona

Hellas Verona are one of Italian football's great romantic stories. A club from Shakespeare's city who in 1985 produced one of Serie A's greatest-ever title shocks, winning the Scudetto under Osvaldo Bagnoli with a squad built on steel, tactical discipline, and the brilliance of Preben Elkjaer. It remains one of the most unlikely championship wins in European football history and has kept Verona firmly in the consciousness of football romantics for four decades. The yellow and blue still represents that defiant spirit. Founded in 1903, Hellas Verona play at the Stadio Bentegodi and compete in Serie A. Key honours include the 1984-85 Serie A title. Known as the Gialloblu (Yellow-Blue) and the Mastini (Mastiffs), the club wears yellow and blue representing the city's ancient emblem and draws from a proud northern Italian football heritage. Yellow and blue have defined Verona since the club adopted the colours of the city's historical coat of arms. The thin blue pinstripe designs of the 1984-85 Scudetto season are the most iconic in the club's wardrobe, worn during the most improbable title win in Serie A history. Verona revisited those pinstripes in anniversary kits, most notably the 2024-25 Scudetto 40th anniversary designs that brought the heritage look back beautifully. The yellow away shirts have always been a bold statement.
