About Vitesse
Vitesse are one of Dutch football's most entertaining clubs, an Arnhem institution founded in 1892 whose yellow and black colours and the stunning GelreDome stadium have made them one of the Eredivisie's most distinctive sides. Best known in recent years for their arrangement as Chelsea's preferred loan destination during the Abramovich era, which brought a parade of talented players to Arnhem, Vitesse won their only major honour, the KNVB Cup, in 2017, a beautiful moment for a club that had long threatened to break through. Their stylish play has always matched those eye-catching yellow and black kits. Founded in 1892, Vitesse are based in Arnhem, Gelderland, Netherlands, and compete in the Eredivisie, the Dutch top flight. They play at GelreDome, one of the few stadiums in the world with a retractable grass pitch. The club are nicknamed De Geel-Zwarten (The Yellow-Blacks). Major honours include the KNVB Cup in 2017. Their home colours are yellow and black. The yellow and black home kit is the visual identity of Vitesse, as bold and striking as any in Dutch football. The combination has been produced by various manufacturers across the decades, with Puma and Errea among those to take on the distinctive colour scheme. The kits from the loan-era of the mid-2010s, when Chelsea players wore the yellow and black, are particularly associated with an exciting period at Arnhem. The 2017 KNVB Cup-winning strip holds a special place in Vitesse's shirt collection, worn during the proudest day in the club's history.
